• The battery is swollen or bloated – Internal damage, explosion risk. Do NOT jump start. Call us – we'll advise (may need recovery).
• The battery is leaking fluid – Acid leak, explosion risk. Do NOT jump start. Call us.
• The battery is cracked or damaged – Internal short circuit, explosion risk. Do NOT jump start. Call us.
• You see smoke or smell rotten eggs – Battery overheating, hydrogen gas. Explosion risk. Get away from the car. Call 999 if there's fire risk.
• The car is an EV (electric vehicle) – Some EVs cannot be jump started. Check your manual. Call us – we'll advise.
• You're on a motorway hard shoulder – Too dangerous to DIY. Call us – we'll assess (may need recovery instead of jump start).
• The battery is frozen – In extreme cold, battery electrolyte can freeze. Do NOT jump start. Call us.
