Vehicle Transport Service – Planned Car Delivery Across The UK

Buying a car online? Selling your car to someone in another city? Moving a classic car to a show? Need a car delivered to a garage?

Vehicle transport is the planned, non-emergency service that gets your car from A to B safely. This guide explains how it works, how much it costs, and when to use it (vs emergency recovery). For transport across the UK, we're here. Same price day or night.

Fixed price before you book. No hidden fees. Same price day or night.

What Is Vehicle Transport? (Simple Definition)

Vehicle transport (also called car transport, car delivery, or car shipping) is the service of moving a vehicle from one location to another as a planned, non-emergency service.

When you need vehicle transport: 🚗 You bought a car online (eBay, Auto Trader, Facebook Marketplace) and need it delivered. 🚗 You sold your car online and need it collected. 🚗 You're moving house and want your car delivered. 🚗 You have a classic car that you don't want to drive long distances. 🚗 Your car needs to go to a specialist garage far from home. 🚗 You're buying a car from a dealer and they won't deliver.

What vehicle transport is NOT: NOT emergency breakdown recovery, NOT accident recovery, NOT roadside assistance, NOT HGV or lorry transport (we only do vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes).

Vehicle Transport vs Car Recovery – What's The Difference?

FeatureVehicle Transport (Planned)Car Recovery (Emergency)
Booking timeDays or weeks in advance (planned)Immediately (you're broken down now)
PriceLower (we can plan efficient routes)Higher (emergency dispatch, safety fees)
Vehicle conditionDriveable, roadworthy (usually)Broken down, accident damaged, not driveable
Time of dayUsually daytime (9am-5pm, but we can do evenings)24/7 (anytime day or night)
Typical cost (local, 10 miles)£65-100£80-150
Typical cost (long distance, 100 miles)£150-250£200-350

In practice, we do both. The same flatbed truck can do planned transport or emergency recovery. For emergency breakdowns, see our car recovery page.

Buying A Car Online? We Can Deliver It

You found the perfect car on eBay, Auto Trader, or Facebook Marketplace. But it's 200 miles away. How do you get it home? Use our vehicle transport service: no risk of breakdown, no travel costs for you, you save a whole day, we deliver to your door. Cost: £85-200 depending on distance.

How it works for online car purchases: You win the auction or agree a price → You pay the seller → You call us (pick-up address = seller's location, delivery address = your home) → We quote fixed price → You book → We collect from seller (inspect and photograph) → We deliver to your home → You inspect and pay us → Your car is in your driveway.

Selling A Car Online? We Can Collect It

You've sold your car online. The buyer is 150 miles away. Use our vehicle transport service: no travel for you, buyer pays for transport, we deliver to buyer's door, you stay home.

How it works for online car sales: You agree a sale (buyer pays you or a deposit) → You call us (pick-up = your location, delivery = buyer's location) → We quote fixed price (buyer can pay us directly) → You book → We collect from you (inspect and photograph, you sign collection note) → We deliver to buyer (they inspect and sign) → Done.

We can handle payment directly from the buyer – they can pay us when we deliver.

What To Do Before We Collect Your Car

✅ Is the car accessible? – Clear driveway, not blocked in, easy for our flatbed to reach.
✅ Are the keys available? – We need keys to load (release steering lock, put in neutral). If non-runner, still need keys.
✅ Is the car in neutral? – Manual: neutral. Automatic: park (we can shift using manual override if needed).
✅ Is the handbrake off? – We need wheels to turn for loading. Handbrake off. Use chocks if on slope (we carry them).
✅ Any special instructions? – Low suspension? Fragile paint? Alarm? Tell us.
✅ Personal belongings removed? – We're not responsible for items left in the car. Remove valuables.
✅ Is the car insured? – Our insurance covers car while on our truck (goods in transit). Your own policy may have additional cover.
